YOGA, BREATHWORK, & SAUNA AT SBG WHITEFISH

At SBG Whitefish we are dedicated to using the most efficient and effective practices for health, happiness, and longevity. On Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd we are offering a workshop called “The Pulse”, a yoga, breathwork, sauna, and cold plunge seminar hosted by our yoga instructor, Selena Garafino.

YOGA

It’s a common misconception that flexibility is always good for longevity, but in reality, too much flexibility can put you at risk for injury. Hyper-flexible athletes are at a disadvantage because their tissue is prone to damage when those joints are pushed to their maximum range.

Improving your mobility in conjunction with yoga practice is the best way to reduce your risk of injury and increase your chance of longevity. Mobility is strength at an optimal range, and it mitigates injury when your body and joints are under stress.

The yoga , mobility and movement that we’ll be doing in the seminar will expand the range of motion in your hips and shoulders. You’ll learn how to capture the joint capsules of your hips and shoulders, for longevity and range.

BREATHWORK

“The Pulse” comes from the word spanda in Sanskrit, which can be translated as “the vibration or pulsation of the universe.” Spanda is the rustling of the leaves in the trees and the jellyfish in the aquarium. It is the movement of your breath, and it awakens you to the sensory experience that is happening around and within you at all times.

The type of breathwork that we will be doing is known as conscious connection breath. It’s been shown to relieve stuck emotions and physical pain in the body. It overrides the mental chatter in your mind and the voice that has a story about every experience. It stimulates the same part of the brain as psycho-active drugs and can be a powerful experience that leaves you feeling euphoric.

SAUNA & COLD PLUNGE

If you learn to master the cold, you learn to master anything. Learning to master yourself in stressful circumstances is something that will ripple out into every area of your life. Alternating hot and cold Is a situation in which you are intentionally putting yourself in an uncomfortable environment. You learn to ground yourself with your breath, take control of your mind, and stay present in the experience. As you train yourself to be comfortable in the uncomfortable, it will ripple out to so many other areas of your life.

Thanks to the research of health experts such as Dr. Rhonda Patrick and the recent popularity of the Wim Hof Method, the benefits of sauna and cold plunge are more widely known. Regular sauna use improves heart health, metabolism, and the immune system. It can reduce pain and help with weight loss. When you cold plunge, you experience a fight or flight response in the body. When you learn to temper your reaction, it trains you to be more resilient in your life.

Following the breathwork session, you will participate in a sauna and cold-plunging session. Alternating hot and cold burns brown fat, speeds up metabolism, improves muscle recovery, and stimulates your immune system. It will provide multiple benefits for your nervous system, immunity, muscle recovery, and mental and emotional game.

OWN YOUR POWER

You are most powerful when you own your breath, behavior, emotions, and how you show up in any given moment. The more techniques you have for healing your nervous system, the more powerful you’re going to be in your life.

Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a jiu jitsu athlete, a yoga practitioner, or someone who just wants to stay active and improve longevity, The Pulse will give you the tools you need to thrive! To register, call SBG Whitefish, (406) 471-7717.
